Taxes & Payday
Every player on the server receives a payday at regular intervals — a salary payment based on their current job. The Mayor controls how much of that is taxed.
Payday Timer
Payday runs every 3 minutes. When it fires, all connected players receive their job salary minus applicable taxes. A notification will appear on your screen when payday occurs.
Job Salaries
Each job pays a base salary per payday cycle. Government jobs generally pay more than Citizen, but come with duties and responsibilities.
| Job | Base Salary |
|---|---|
| Citizen | Varies (skill-based) |
| Police Officer | Government wage |
| Mayor | Higher government wage |
| SWAT | Government wage |
| Medic | Government wage |
| Firefighter | Government wage |
| Bus Driver | Public service wage |
| Road Crew | Public service wage |
Income Tax
The Mayor can set an income tax rate between 0% and 50%. This percentage is deducted from your payday salary. The default rate is 5%.
For example: if your salary is $500 and income tax is 10%, you receive $450.
Sales Tax
When you sell items to NPC shops or other players, a sales tax is applied. The default rate is 5%, and the Mayor can raise it up to 50%.
How the Mayor Changes Tax
The Mayor can adjust tax rates through the government panel (F2 → Mayor menu). Tax changes take effect on the next payday cycle. Watch for in-game announcements when tax rates change.
Cash Cap
You can hold a maximum of $100,000 on your person at any time. Excess money above this cap is lost. Use the Bank to store additional funds safely.
