Getting Started What to do first

You've spawned in. Now what? Here's a quick checklist to get you oriented in your first session.

Step 1 — Set Your Character Name

Press F4 → Character tab and enter your roleplaying name. This is the name other players will see above your head and in chat.

Step 2 — Learn the Map

Take a few minutes to explore EvoCity. Key locations to find:

Police Station — where police spawn and process arrests
Hospital — medics work here
City Hall / Mayor's Office — government hub
Bank — deposit your money here
Car Dealer — buy vehicles
Shops & NPCs — buy basic supplies

Step 3 — Pick a Job

Press F2 to open the job menu. Start as a Citizen and explore what's available. Government jobs have slot limits, so some may be full. See the Jobs section for details on each role.

Step 4 — Earn Some Cash

Start with something simple — take a legal job for steady payday income, or look for legal work. See Earning Your First Money for a quick start guide.

Step 5 — Buy or Rent a Property

Having your own space lets you store items and set up operations. Walk up to a door with a For Sale sign and press F1 to purchase it. See Properties & Housing for more.

Ask in OOC: Newer players are welcome to ask questions in OOC chat (Y key). Most players are happy to help. Just don't ask for free items — earn them!
